Hey there Travis! New Mexico is beautiful, but you're right...not much dancing going on. I know that Chicago and the surrounding area has a great WCS community. They have weekly dances and tons of great instructors in the area. I'm not as familiar with the New England area, but I found this website that has dances/events in that area, with a dance calendar which might give you some contact info. https://www.dcwestcoastswing.com/dance-calendar
You could always move to Louisville ;-)
Brian might have more insight for the other areas. Happy dancing!! Hope you find a great new community!

Hey there Charles! So sorry for the delayed response and thanks for the question!I think I understand your question...2 Quicks equal a slow, but just because you start with a quick, doesn't mean it is in place of a slow, it's just in a different sequence or order. For instance: Most Tango moves are in 8 beat increments. The basic is: Slow, Slow, Quick, Quick, Slow (equating to 8.) In something that begins with Quicks, like the Reverse Turn, that counts: Quick, Quick, Slow, Quick, Quick, Slow (also equating to 8). There are a few exceptions to all the moves, like there are for most dances. I hope that answers your question. If not, shoot me a message back, and I'll try again! Happy dancing :-)
