Hey Steven Farrer - great question. Country Swing has gone through a huge evolution in a short period of time. We've just now really gotten to a more decisive and teachable (and agreed upon) way of teaching the basics and beyond. When I first taught it in Texas (over 10 years ago) they taught it like the 4 count Hustle, but the way we are teaching the basic in these videos is what is being taught over the states currently, and at all of the Country Swing weekend events. Q-Q-S, Q-Q-S. Just like West Coast Swing where some things are taught slightly different, that might be what's happening in your AM studio. Where is your studio located? Hopefully that answered your questions!

Hey anne olejarz - the passing tuck is similar but different. It is the tuck turn for the follower, but now the follower is passing the leader instead of staying on the same side. The passing tuck is in our Beginner syllabus and numver 7 on our PDF for West Coast Swing. It's a fun and sometimes underutilized pattern.

Hey Palace - responded to your email 😊

Replied on Basic- Nightclub

Hi there Bebe - great question! There are a few techniques to Nightclub, either with the closing of the feet or with a rock step on the quick quick. Using the rock step version is taught more socially and to faster Nightclub songs, while the version we teach is closer to the competitive and slower style that we teach our competitive students. Every dance evolves a bit over time. To simplify you can always take smaller side steps, and the rock steps are probably easier. Let me know if you have any other questions 😀

Hey Paul Frank!! Great question…there are several other styles you can try. Since it’s all 4/4 time you could try Rumba, Bachata or Hustle. ECS could work sometimes but any of those mentioned would be great alternatives!

Hey there Palace - where are you seeing the $9.99 rate? Usually our monthly rate is $19.99. 😊

Hey Mike Young - it looks like you have the Free membership which means you only have access to a few videos for each style that we offer. I believe it's about 80 or so that you're able to see currently. If you upgrade to the monthly/yearly membership, you'll have access to all of the videos. There are that many and we're always adding more! 😀Thanks for being here!

Hey there Laure! France - How cool! We have a studio in Louisville, KY - Megan and I teach private lessons and group classes there. We also travel around, but we're mainly found in our studio - Dance Louisville. We'd love for you to come visit!
