Hey all, we are Chad and Mandy out of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. We started dancing a couple of months ago at our local Fred Astaire studio and we are loving it. We started because we went in a cruise and went to the salsa lounge/bar and really enjoyed watching everyone that could actually dance but we had no idea how to do any of the steps. After that I bought us a beginner package and we’ve been going every week since. Was really excited to find these videos as we struggle with remembering the steps week to week and feel like we could get better use out of our lessons if we had some guidance to practice in between lessons. Looking forward to learning more and getting more confident so our next cruise we can be the people others are watching. 😂

You sent an email with "5 cha cha moves made interesting" video and I can't find it online.  I wanted to save it.

I am almost sure that somewhere here with all of the fantastic videos WCS Online has, I saw this "Anchor" variation executed from the Whip step. I am looking for it - any ideas where?

Whip Step, stalker / walking along rail on the 5,6. One last triple (7&8) the leader steps across the slot (7) and rotates the Follower 1/2 turn (&8) now headed in the opposite direction.

A long-time subscriber and a fan of WCS since mid 1990s. 🤔

Hey!

Quick timing question in WCS. Things feel fine from a sugar push, but when I go into a sugar tuck, my shoulder kind of "folds," and I lose the timing. That throws off the next move – like a whip , or like an suger tuck - and I end up about half a beat late.

I was in Gothenburg recently and noticed others struggling with similar timing issues, especially in transitions.

Anyone else experienced this?
Tips for staying on time?
Could the shoulder movement be the culprit?

Appreciate any thoughts! Have a great weekend!
