Trying to learn without a partner can definitely be hard. We are big advocates of knowing your own footwork, so that much you can definitely do by yourself. But if you know your own footwork, it'll make it easier to dance with anyone. It's pretty easy to get hooked with dancing - it's SO FUN! 😍Here are some more ideas on how to practice by yourself. We've got a few videos about it on the channel - this video was back during the pandemic when no one could practice together! Let us know if we can help with anything else!

Hey Scott Seabaugh - are you all ok down in Florida? Sending positive vibes your way!

Melinda I personally like tighter clothes to the body for a few reasons, aside from not getting caught up in my partners arms (which can get crazy…lol), etc…sometimes it’s distracting when people are watching too, like you mentioned.

I do like wide legged pants if I’m social dancing, or even sometimes leggings with my boots, which still show lines. My tops are usually tighter to the body and less crop top, slouchy tees. Don’t get me wrong…I love those tops, but not for dancing. 😊A sheer overlay might be a cool option but less layers for me, the better! Dancing can make you hot! Haha

CHRISTOPHER O'CONNOR yes!!!

First, I’m so sorry you had the experiences of the dance snobs - I’m SO HAPPY they didn’t keep you from dancing!

Second, yes…everything you said. We try, at our Thursday dances, to have all of our more experienced dancers dance with our newbies! It creates a more welcoming environment for everyone and we want to think that happens everyone but we know that’s not always the case.

Thank you for asking the wallflowers to dance in the room…you don’t know how much it might change their life ❤️

Hey Noe…not being able to video is a bummer!!! Luckily those dances you mentioned are all pretty standard, aside from teachers teaching it slightly different. One thing that might help is taking your own notes after class in your own words. That makes you recall what you did and it’s another way for you to remember what you did in class!! I would urge you to go to dances!! Even if you don’t dance but one or two dances, watching other people dance is also helpful! I will say, some of my best dances have been with beginners who just did the basics!! I know it can be intimidating but you’ve got this!! Happy dancing! 😊❤️

Haha love it! Tom Ramon which Latin dance is your favorite?

April, yes!!! The 80s had some of the BEST music!!!!

The 80s were AWESOME!!! Tons of different styles that you can dance to all the songs!! Did you have a go-to song, April?! 🎶
