Steve Zivalich - I'm glad you overcame the lack of confidence! I've seen you dance and you always look like you're having a great time 😀

Hey there Melissa Howard - what about hearing the music is hard? Is it finding the one? Or the counts themselves and how the patterns fit to music? 😀I'll see if I can help!

Margaret Page - balance can be a tough thing to tackle. Were you talking about balance in turns, or just in general? We've got a couple of balance drills that might help you. I've included one below, but there are more on the site that you can check out!

Cheryl Ufnowski - it's never too late to start, so we're happy you did! For WCS, downloading the pattern tree might be another helpful tip to learn patterns, and what base patterns they come from :-)

Trying to learn without a partner can definitely be hard. We are big advocates of knowing your own footwork, so that much you can definitely do by yourself. But if you know your own footwork, it'll make it easier to dance with anyone. It's pretty easy to get hooked with dancing - it's SO FUN! 😍Here are some more ideas on how to practice by yourself. We've got a few videos about it on the channel - this video was back during the pandemic when no one could practice together! Let us know if we can help with anything else!

Hey Scott Seabaugh - are you all ok down in Florida? Sending positive vibes your way!

Melinda I personally like tighter clothes to the body for a few reasons, aside from not getting caught up in my partners arms (which can get crazy…lol), etc…sometimes it’s distracting when people are watching too, like you mentioned.

I do like wide legged pants if I’m social dancing, or even sometimes leggings with my boots, which still show lines. My tops are usually tighter to the body and less crop top, slouchy tees. Don’t get me wrong…I love those tops, but not for dancing. 😊A sheer overlay might be a cool option but less layers for me, the better! Dancing can make you hot! Haha

CHRISTOPHER O'CONNOR yes!!!

First, I’m so sorry you had the experiences of the dance snobs - I’m SO HAPPY they didn’t keep you from dancing!

Second, yes…everything you said. We try, at our Thursday dances, to have all of our more experienced dancers dance with our newbies! It creates a more welcoming environment for everyone and we want to think that happens everyone but we know that’s not always the case.

Thank you for asking the wallflowers to dance in the room…you don’t know how much it might change their life ❤️
