Emily (community manager) Most of the hip catches. My favorite is during a Regular whip on count 4 let go with the left hand and with only the connection to the back slingshot the follower down the slot and catch their waist with your left hand on count 5 and then draw the follower to you followed by a redirect with the right forearm to redirect into the anchor step.

What is the difference between a telemark and a telespin? Specifically it is challenging to do the telemark if the follower does not connect away perfectly and help you spin around the corner. I found your Tele spin video and it Appears the extra momentum of a telespin may solve the problem if your partner is not good at connecting away and the leader can still get around the corner and stay on time.

It seems that a Tele spin you accelerate the passing spin portion by bringing the arm around the Leaders back. Anyway, it would be helpful to understand the difference between these two spins and where To use one over the other? Thanks in advance.

During social dancing Are there any cool ways to get to that cross and grab position other than just starting with the leaders right to follow her right and ask for the other hand over the top?

Thank you. Great explanation on the over rotation.

Is there a lead difference (considering you have the right hand to right hand below and left hand to left hand on top) To either lead a bowtie or roll in to a sweetheart position? Basically, I sometimes confuse my partner and they don’t know whether to rotate tremendously as in a bowtie or just go to the Sweetheart position.

At 5:20 where the leader grabs the followers left hand with his left hand how do you get to that position in the dance?

Yes, those videos sound like a good idea to watch. I’ve tried to watch a few videos describing how not to look like an idiot. Lol.

Nice video. It appears the closer you get to the lead hand the more stable you have to be so you can lead your partner without confusing them. It seems like the freedom occurs mainly in the hips and the stance to accent the dance patterns and create the dance β€œfeel”. It would be helpful to see other moves in the context of fluid connected dancing.

Thank you for the video. The higher level dancers have been suggesting I get outside of the structure and begin to feel the dance. This video gave me some good suggestions.
