I think it's all the rage. Honestly it's super common (certainly with advanced dancers in competitions) That's one of the fantastic things about WCS is all of the improv that's possible. Ideally it should be done in a way that doesn't totally hijack the dance from your partner but even then there are lots of places to play with the lyrics! Have fun with it -B

My guess is that this position is like Rose at the bow of the ship in the movie Titanic :-)

Jami Morton I hope so too! We love AZ

Melinda you're the poster child for the way WCS (or any other dance) will grow and become popular in this modern era. Thanks for sharing your story and enthusiasm. It's that type of excitement that will influence people to want to learn!

Hey Melinda,

Thanks for all the fun topics! I can't speak to tap dancing, I've failed miserably at it several times but I CAN speak to the evolution of WCS (and swing dancing in general)Anyone who says they don't want other forms of dancing mixed with WCS is not paying attention. WCS is branch of the evolutionary tree that's rooted in Lindy Hop (we can go back further but lets just start there) It's been influenced by music, culture and other dance styles almost by it's nature. Jazz dancers, ballet dancers, modern dancers, ballroom dancers, country dancers, hustle dancers, zouk dancers have all influenced WCS just to name a few.So who knows if you add some tap in ;-)-Brian
