The difference between sweetheart and shadow technically is that shadow would mean the leader and follower are on the same footwork. In sweetheart they don't have to be. However the name gets confused and interchanged, so the technical difference has lost a bit of meaning.

Hello, no they do not get close enough to bump the other person. Use the connection in your hands to stop before you connect with the other person.

Hey, the dip would happen on the 56 of the pattern bring the follower up 7 & 8. You could keep them in closed hold and do an inside turn as the next move. The follower should come up with weight on their left foot ready to go with their right.
