Hello,
You may already be aware of this, but there seem to be a few glitches lately with the  message board:
- Most of Emily’s replies seem to have disappeared.
- Yesterday I got an email notification for Emily’s reply to a post that was not mine.
- I tried deleting and reinstalling the app.  Then to sign back in, after a few tries using email address, I never got the confirmation email.  (However, it worked when using password.)

Brian,

Howdy from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania! Pittsburgh has a group called 412Step that does weekly line dances and holds some partner dancing (mainly country 2 step, country waltz, and WCS). Do you have any recommendations for a first-time cowboy dance boot purchase? I already own a pair of practice and smooth/ballroom shoes. I have all this horsepower and room to gallop: I might as well look the part! đŸ€

Dancingly,
RyGuyDiscoFly

Hi! I just subscribed. I am excited to learne new dances!
I was wondering if there will be Merengue. I learned this dance few years ago and I’d like to review it and maybe learn new steps.

So my husband and I have to get up and do an "honor dance" at this trophy ball thing this weekend and we are going to do cha cha. I've been told that we will get about 50 seconds of music, so our plan is to do some steps we planned in advance and then just sort of improvise until the music stops if it hasn't already.

Here are the steps we have currently planned:

1. Side-to-side basic
2. Alternating under arm turns
3. Back spot turn
4. Shadow rocks
5. Under arm turn
6. Paseo
7. Uh.. Cross-body pullback
8. Shoulder check ?
9. ??? I really doubt the music will still be playing??

Basically if any of you smart dance people have any thoughts or feedback on this routine or can think of some way to make it better, I'd appreciate it!

Hello!  Loving the course, and thank you for all the outstanding work the team has put into this!

I just have a question about a move I have often seen the WCS pros do.  It’s when the leader extends a hand, palm side out, and the follower takes the hand and continues the pattern.

I hadn’t come across it on the site, and was wondering what it’s called, and when to use it. *Update:   I did see examples of the move in your “Carwash with Salsa” and “Twisted Up” and “Advanced Reverse Whips Variations” videos, and it was referred to as “asking for” a hand.

Thank you :)

By the way, have you all seen this show the pros put on at Liberty Swing?  It was epic!

Hi, another question.
Is there a term for the times when a dance couple is not physically touching?
For example, are they said to drop their connection, or to disconnect/be disconnected?  Then are they said to reconnect or reestablish connection?

Thank you :)

I just joined this, and paid for a year.
I really like Brian B's casual vibe. And the general clarity of the lessons. I also like that in your videos, it shows the whole move first before its broken down. Because often, that's the only part that I need to see.

I'm loving Country Swing, but it seems to be all turn patterns and tricks.  What do you do between the turn patterns to rest or just groove?  East Coast Swing? Thanks.

Burning question: please clarify for me? I always thought as a follower, i should learn to lead, and thats where I stopped, because I thought Id have to learn alll the stuff backwards
. Am I daft? Cant I just lead a leader if he/she is in on it? Like i take the wheel, and they follow me but we just keep in same steps
? Help i know this probably is a very dumb question.
