The Cross Body Lead is easy enough from the closed position, but do you, can you, or should you do it from the open position?

We saw some of your lessons on YouTube and liked your approach and are trying the free trial period. We have a disco thing going on here in our town, so we're practicing hustle moves. On YouTube, you have, for example, a video called The Neck Wrap (Intermediate). I am not finding that on this site. How in sync with your YouTube videos is this site? Or are they just named differently. I hope that anything you have on YouTube will be findable here.

Just curious if the set your location option for the profile is still a work in progress.  I notice it only gives me city that are not in the U.S.

Mark and Debbie Jordan, we have been dancing about 5 years.  We live in a small town and since Covid there is no where for us to take lessons.  We have made the best friends dancing.  There is a group of us that go out every weekend dancing.  We need some new steps and continue to learn.  It is good for us.

Here's another issue I have. Most likely because I'm newer and think about the steps too much. I end up breaking proper upper body frame, having shoulders too high, drooping my arm, and putting too much pressure on the leader's arm. I've been given a physical example of using the back muscles instead of the shoulder muscles, but I have to focus on that. So when I get to focusing on learning the footwook, I can't help but to lessen my focus on keeping my arms up. Any advice on that?

Are there any tricks are than the leader be a good leader to know which way i should turn in passes, under arm passes, turns etc...It would be so helpful to have an idea if I should be turning clockwise or counter clockwise. Thanks

Hello, my name is Jayne.  I am 63 years old and very late to the dancing world.  I live in North Texas and there are very few places in the area that offer dancing.  I have always had a desire to learn.  I am mesmerized by dancers and I have always wanted to join in the fun.  I never had the opportunity to do so.  In my 40’s, I developed severe arthritis that destroyed my knees and nearly had me wheelchair bound.  Thank God, I found a wonderful surgeon who gave me new knees a couple of years ago and when he asked me what I was hoping for as an outcome to my surgery, my answer was “to be able to dance”. Once I completed my rehab, I began my journey of finding dance venues and dance lessons and found none.  I turned to You Tube and discovered Brian and Megan but, I don’t have a dance partner and even though the videos are excellent, I wanted to learn with a partner.  After a a lot of tenacity and determination, I have found a private dance instructor to work with once a week.  However,  once a week only gets you so far.  You have to practice and that is what led me back to Brian and Megan.  I am relying on the WestCoastSwingonline team to help me learn more, improve faster and build my stamina and confidence.  I look forward to the journey and getting to know the community.

What are the best videos to work on upper body position/balance during turns/spins? Like keeping your head above a specific foot or keeping upper body neutral (in line?) while doing footwork (I hope that gets the point across). I have a tendency to lean too far back and that's an area I need help with. I'm a beginner but not super new.
